Thanks to my patient for sharing her procedure. These growths are painful because any pressure feels like a rock under the skin being pressed down on sensitive tissue underneath. You can see how the skin thins out at the surface from the pressure underneath. I remove that thinned out skin so the sutures go through the thick normal skin beside it.
